Mediterranean Cocoa Cruise, May 2010
Chicago Chocolate Tours is going international! Chicago Chocolate Tours Founder Valerie Beck lived in Europe for 5 years and is excited to travel with you to some amazing chocolate spots.
We'll leave from Barcelona for a fabulous 5-day Cocoa Cruise in the Mediterranean on the Royal Caribbean line. Our scheduled itinerary, including ports where we'll sample the chocolate wonders:

Livorno / Florence
Civitavecchia / Rome

A donation will be made to the Conservation Fund's Go Zero program, to plant trees to offset the carbon footprint of our trip.
Here are some details of the trip:
We’ll sample some incredible European chocolates, pastries, and other delights on chocolate tours of Barcelona, Cannes/Monte Carlo, Florence, and Rome, on a 5-day cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship. There are some amazing and creative chocolatiers in those cities. For example, we’ll visit some traditional chocolate shops in Barcelona, which was the first European city to see chocolate after Christopher Columbus brought cocoa beans back from Central America, and we’ll also visit a young Barcelona chocolatier who does special chocolate pop rocks. Special chocolate delights await us in Cannes, such as chocolate croissants and the unique chocolate fruits made in the South of France. We’ll sample wonderful treats in Florence including chocolate gelato, and in Rome we’ll visit that city’s oldest chocolate shop; the shop itself is about as gorgeous as the beautiful chocolates they make.
Valerie will lead the tours, which will be filled with chocolates to taste, plus fascinating facts on the history and health benefits of chocolate.
