Join us for a Chicago Chocolate Tour, and enjoy a guided walking and tasting tour to select chocolate shops, bakeries, and cafes, including secret chocolate treasures, plus famous favorites!
In general, depending on the route, we'll sample not just chocolate bars or truffles, but chocolate in a variety of forms, which may include cupcakes, other baked goods, gelato, hot chocolate, or even chocolate tea. We take an inclusive view of the wide world of chocolate, and are excited to share this viewpoint and tasting opportunity with you as we focus on artisan quality and creativity!
We tour all year round, 52 weeks a year, and our tours are exciting and inviting. Public tours are $40 per person (please see below for schedules), and private tours are also available.

What happens on a Chicago Chocolate Tour?

Enjoying a Chicago Chocolate TourA Chicago Chocolate Tour is a fun and educational guided walking and tasting tour of select chocolate shops, bakeries, and cafes, including traditional and non-traditional chocolate locations. You'll visit some of Chicago's most popular chocolate stores, and some of the city's secret chocolate treasures, as you delve deeply into the rich history of chocolate and discover chocolate in expected as well as surprising places. Length of tour varies between locations with an average tour lasting around 2 hours.
Learn about fine chocolates, the world history of chocolate, and Chicago’s beautiful architecture as you savor the flavors of chocolate in a variety of forms. For example, your tour might include truffles, cupcakes or other baked goods, gelato, hot chocolate, or even chocolate tea, all made by our participating stores with artisan love and top quality ingredients!
The cost is $40 for a public tour. Private tour info is below, and group rates are available.

Mondays at 12:45 pm - Chocolate Locations of the Downtown Loop: Frango - Loop, Charbonnel and Walker at Macy's, Toni Patisserie, Katherine Anne Confections at Daley Plaza Farmers Market (May - October), Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza (Day after Thanksgiving - Christmas Eve), FM Artisan Chocolates at Fannie May, Argo - Marquette. Meet at the old Marshall Field's / Macy's at 111 N. State Street, by the information desk on the ground floor by the fountain. Walking level: Easy. (Note: the first stops are boutiques or areas located inside the old Marshall Field's / Macy's building, so this route is particularly wonderful if you're looking to spend time indoors, such as due to weather or mobility.)
Tuesdays at 2:45 pm - Chocolate Locations of the Magnificent Mile and Gold Coast: Teuscher Chocolates, More Cupcakes, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Hendrickx Belgian Bread Crafters, and Foodease and Sacred Ground, Argo - Gold Coast. Meet at the information desk inside at 900 N. Michigan Avenue. Walking level: Easy.
Wednesdays at 2:45 pm - Chocolate Locations of the Magnificent Mile and Gold Coast: More Cupcakes, Sprinkles Cupcakes, Hendrickx Belgian Bread Crafters, Bar Toma, Argo - Gold Coast. Meet at the information desk inside at 900 N. Michigan Avenue. Walking level: Easy.

"Fine print:" Tours generally end at a different location from the starting point. Stores are subject to change, and tickets are non-refundable. If you find you can't take the tour on the day you signed up for, you can reschedule with no penalty. We have an expansive, inclusive view of chocolate, which means your tour may feature not only chocolate bars or truffles, but also other forms of chocolate which may include ice cream, cupcakes, croissants, other baked goods, hot chocolate, or chocolate tea. We believe in exploring the wide world of chocolate, and in focusing on artisan chocolatiers and chefs who use the highest quality ingredients!

Chocolate Shops of Geneva, IL:
This lovely tour runs the third Wednesday of every month at 10:45 am and 2:45 pm. Meet outside Graham's Fine Chocolates, 302 S. 3rd Street. Advance registration, please.

How much does a Chicago Chocolate Tour cost?

Disclaimer and Release of Liability
All Terms and Conditions, Waiver and Release of Liability apply to each tour participant once the ticket has been purchased.
Cancellations
- All sales are final.
- Tickets cannot be refunded, but you may reschedule if you find you cannot attend on the original date you chose.
Weather
We tour rain, snow, or shine. In the unlikely event that seller should need to cancel a tour for any reason, ticket holders may reschedule.
Dietary Restrictions and Allergies
Prior to a tour, please tell us about any allergies, dietary needs, or restrictions you may have. We cannot guarantee that any dietary needs or restrictions can be accommodated given the nature of the tour programs, but we will do our best to work according to your preference.
Medical and Health Concerns
It is vital for tour participants with medical/health concerns to inform us of their condition. The tour leader reserves the right to disqualify anyone at any time during the tour if he or she feels the tour participant is incapable and/or if a tour member's continued participation will jeopardize the individual involved or the group. Refunds are not given under such circumstances.
Participant Waiver and Release of Liability
You understand and agree that seller is not responsible for the chocolate, foods or beverages consumed on our tours. Seller acts solely as agent in arranging tours and other services and does not assume liability for accidents, delays, injuries, loss or damage due to any act or default of any company, organization or person engaged in rendering service, or carrying out arrangements for any tour or by the act of default of any shop or café or its employees.
You waive all claims of liability against seller, its owner, contractors or employees, and tourguides for any illness/injury to anyone on this tour and/or loss/damage/theft to any attendee's property while they are participating in a tour. All participants walk at their own risk and waive any liability claims against seller, its owner, contractors or employees, and tourguides.
You agree to grant seller a worldwide, royalty-free, fully paid up license to use your photographic, video, or digital likeness solely for our promotional and/or commercial purposes.
Alcohol Waiver: As a participant on a tour that involves consumption of alcohol, you affirm that you are over the legal drinking age of 21. You fully and clearly understand that you will be consuming alcohol during the tour and you accept full responsibility for your behavior, well-being, and health throughout the tour. You agree not to hold seller liable in any way should any harm come to you.
By purchasing the ticket(s), you and all tour attendees affirm that you all have fully understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions, Waiver and Release of Liability.
